New grant available to help improve numeracy skills in Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland

Published on: 13/02/2023

Do you want to become a Lincolnshire Multiply Champion? Employers and community groups in Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland can now apply for a £1,000 grant to support numeracy development across the region.

Multiply is a government-funded programme which aims to bridge skill-gaps and support adults over the age of 19 with improving their maths skills. Having a solid grasp of numeracy principles is not only critical to your team members’ personal progression, but also to your business’s growth and success.

Offering free, flexible courses, personal tutoring and digital training, Multiply provides participating businesses with the opportunity to upskill their team members in maths, opening doors to career progression and unlocking new opportunities for your organisation.

The grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be used on piloting innovative approaches to learning maths in the workplace, or dedicating staff time to encourage numeracy progression. Community groups may also apply for funding to support their wider community in taking up Multiply courses.

Executive councillor for adult learning at the county council, Cllr Patricia Bradwell, said:

“A Lincolnshire Multiply Champion is an organisation or group that recognises the importance of Maths and its application at work, and in everyday life. By investing in numeracy skills through the new Multiply programme, we hope businesses across Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland increase their employee's confidence, retention and internal progression. ”
