Back for its tenth consecutive year, the Taming the Dragon event took place at the University of Lincoln last month, with four businesses pitching their ideas to a panel of four ‘dragons’ in the hope of snapping up a business investment deal.

The second pitch came from Claire Siemaszkiewicz, whose business, Totally Intertwined, pioneers digital-first publishing; providing romance authors with everything they need to get their books to market and establish a platform to reach their readers.

Next was Dhruv Ranpura and Neel Thakrar, founders of tuck, an app which enhances the way hospitality businesses connect with their customers. tuck was started to help businesses get better access to technology and improve their visibility. The app has also revolutionised traditional loyalty schemes that often take too long for customers to earn and instead embraces cashback incentives.

The closing pitch came from Luke Pulford; Director of TCC who have created a fully automated, cloud-based, AI-driven data analysis and capture system.

The audience were then delivered an enlightening presentation from previous winner, Leo Scott-Smith, founder of award-winning deep-tech start-up business, Tended.

After a period of deliberation, representatives declared Sam Fells from Breaze Health to have delivered the best pitch and presented her with a cash prize of £1,000.
