Greater Lincolnshire is part of UK Tech Week 2026 and here’s how to get involved

27.02.26 - BL UK Tech Week – Banners-01

UK Tech Week returns this March, and Greater Lincolnshire has a place at the table. Running from 16 to 20 March 2026, UK Tech Week is a nationwide celebration of the innovation, talent and ambition that exists in regional tech communities across the country. This year, Lincoln is hosting three fully funded events as part of it. Whether you work in tech, run a business that uses technology, or you’re simply curious about where things are heading, there is something here for you.

What’s on?

Ctrl+Break | UK Tech Week 2026 – Tuesday 17 March, lunchtime

If you’re a developer, or work closely with developers, this is a good place to start. Ctrl+Break is a lunch-and-learn event built around short, sharp lightning talks followed by Q&A. Fellow practitioners share what they’re building, what they’ve learned and what’s actually useful. No fluff, no sales pitches. Lunch is provided, and you’ll finish the session with ideas worth taking back to your desk.

Defence Horizons: Tech, Talent & Opportunity – Thursday 19 March, morning

This event brings together the Greater Lincolnshire Regional Defence and Security Cluster (GLRDSC) and Digital Lincoln for a fast-paced session focused on the future of defence technology in our region. You’ll hear from practitioners working at the forefront of defence innovation, covering everything from digital resilience and autonomous systems to secure tech integration and next-generation situational awareness. It’s designed for businesses already connected to the defence sector and those who want to understand what opportunities might exist for them. Whether you’re an established supplier or an SME exploring the landscape for the first time, this is a practical and well-connected morning.

Vibeathon | UK Tech Week 2026 – Friday 20 March, half day

The week closes with something a little different. Digital Lincoln’s first Vibeathon combines the energy of a hackathon with AI-assisted ‘vibe coding’ tools, think Bubble, Loveable or Claude, to see what you can build in a set amount of time. You don’t need to be a developer. You can work alone or in a team. There are challenges, prizes and lunch included. It’s fun, practical and a genuinely accessible way to get hands-on with AI tools in a low-stakes environment.

Why does this matter for Greater Lincolnshire businesses?

Greater Lincolnshire’s digital sector is already worth over £992 million to the local economy and supports more than 8,250 jobs across the region. UK Tech Week shines a spotlight on what’s happening outside of London and the major tech hubs, and events like these are part of how Greater Lincolnshire builds its reputation as a place where serious work is being done in technology, defence and digital innovation.

Attending isn’t just about learning something new. It’s about being visible, making connections and contributing to a community that is growing quickly.

If you’re a digital or tech business in Greater Lincolnshire looking for more than just a one-off event, it’s worth knowing about Digital Lincolnshire. It’s an online guide and growing network open to any digital or technology business that wants to raise its profile and connect with others across the county. Whether you want to find new customers, attract talent or build new partnerships, you can register your interest and get involved. And if you need more tailored support with digital strategy, funding or skills, the Business Lincolnshire digital sector team offers one-to-one advice, access to grants and connections to specialist advisers who know the local landscape well.

All three UK Tech Week events are open to anyone, but spaces are limited, so it’s worth booking sooner rather than later.
