The sector contributes £5.6bn to the local economy, 21% of our total economic value. The sector has grown by 64% in real terms over the past decade in Greater Lincolnshire. Nationally (England), the sector grew by 29% in real terms over the past decade. There are 2,400 businesses operating in the sector in Greater Lincolnshire, ranging from very large engineering and petro-chemicals businesses, right through to micro-businesses, which make up 80% of all manufacturing businesses operating in Greater Lincolnshire.

With continuing growth across a number of key areas, including engineering, chemicals, metals and polymers, the aim is to increase economic output by almost a third by 2030, through our amazing local manufacturing businesses, by helping them to grow and develop using the latest technology and advice through Growth Hub grant and support programmes.
